All abilities park in Vizag to open soon

The differently abled children park established at the beach road in Vizag is all set for the inauguration. The park, constructed by Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), is a part of Smart City Projects.

Established in a site area of 2156 sq mt, the park would stand special for the ones who are hearing impaired, blind or handicapped.

“It will be a recreational place for the differently abled and is constructed in such a way that the ones in a wheelchair can explore every corner of the place”, said the source.

“The tactile flooring in the park would help the visually impaired to navigate around. The rubber flooring in the play zones will be safe for children while playing”, the source said. The wooden bridge gives an amazing view of the Vizag beach.

The large blackboard wall in the play area is open for the children for drawing. The play zones are categorized with respect to different age groups.

“Tyre planting is also introduced where used tyres would be used for growing plants inside”, the source mentioned. The equipment used in the park is manufactured and exported from Singapore.

“The construction is complete and all set for inauguration by the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in this week”, the source said.

The total budget for the construction is approximately Rs 3.5 Crores.
