Vizag district Collector Pravin Kumar ordered for a smooth conductance of the upcoming Visakha Utsav. Interacting with officials from several departments at the Collectorate on Wednesday, Kumar also informed that a few district-level officials will be managing some of the organising committees of the Utsav.
The Collector stated that apart from organising different cultural programmes at RK Beach, a flower show at Vizag’s central park will also be held as part of the Visakha Utsav. He ordered the concerned departments to be in readiness for the carnival that will be held on the first day of the celebrations.
It has also been informed that as steering committee has been appointed for the organisation of Visakha Utsav. While the Collector will serve as the Chairperson of this committee, VMRDA Commissioner Basanth Kumar, Joint Collector Srijana, GVMC Commissioner Hari Narayanan have been assigned as the vice-chairpersons.
The Visakha Utsav will be organised on 28, 29 and 30 December this year. Earlier, Andhra Pradesh HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao informed that arrangements were being made to organise the upcoming fest in a grander fashion than the one held last year.
Rao further informed that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will be marking his presence in the Vizag for the opening ceremony of Visakha Utsav 2018. Tourism Minister, Bhuma Akila Priya and other prominent personalities will also be present at the opening ceremony.
