In a shocking incident that came to light, a mob in Vizag beat a beggar to death amid rumours that a bunch of people posing as beggars indulged in kidnapping children. As reported by Telangana Today, around 20 youngsters were taken into custody by the police on Sunday night.

After the youngsters’ parents weren’t allowed to see them, a wide outrage broke out of the police station, it was reported. After the intervention of former MLA SA Rahman, the parents were granted permission to meet their children and kin.

A few days ago, a couple of videos and messages went viral on Whatsapp, claiming that a gang, posing as beggars, arrived in Vizag to kidnap the kids in the city. The messages were, however, claimed to be rumours by city CP T Yoganand who urged the people not to take law into their hands.

Addressing the media, the CP told that false messages were being spread on social media. He urged the people to approach the police if they found anything suspicious for taking prompt action. He also warned that those taking the law into their own hands would be doing so at their own risk.
