As part of improving the tourism sector at the Vizag beach, coconut trees are being planted on the sands of the beach opposite to YMCA.
Sunray resorts, along with Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) are working on the plantation process to beautify and also to provide shade for tourists who visit the beach during the daytime. 100 trees, 15 years old each, have been already planted in the sand.
The 15-year-old trees should be properly taken care of to make sure that they stay alive. Generally, trees which have grown to a decent size will die immediately after being uprooted. With special techniques, the workers are making sure that the trees are safe and still growing after planted in the sand.
Rajababu, Managing Director of Sunray Resorts, said that the resort’s management would take care of the coconut trees plantation for a year until they are fully grown. He also mentioned that more of them would be planted along the beach in different phases.
