Each season, many of the tourists from Vizag to Araku prefer visiting the place by a train while opting for a road journey in return. With many people enquiring for a suitable package that accommodates these preferred to and fro journeys, the tourism department will be launching a special, rail cum road package for Araku tourists in January.
The tourism department will soon reach an agreement with the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) in this regard.
While IRCTC will just be restricted to selling tickets, the remaining aspects of the package will be handled directly by the tourism department. The department is expected to take care of several facilities offered to the tourists, including those of breakfast, local sightseeing, lunch and the return journey via buses among others.
Previously, the tourism department had charged Rs 958 per head for a similar package and the new package too is expected to be charged on similar lines. The tickets to Araku through this special package can be availed on the IRCTC website, the link to which, will be furnished on the website of the tourism department as well.
The package is expected to serve the currently peaking tourist season in Vizag. Earlier, it was also reported that the officials introduced special weekend trains from Vizag to Araku.
Further details, including the pricing, of this special package for Araku tourists, will be revealed soon.
