Visakhapatnam shivers, cold weather brings share of troubles for residents

For Visakhapatnam residents, the cold weather not just brings enjoyment but also a share of troubles.

Located on the East Coast and prone to heat and humidity, Visakhapatnam residents are now looking at the weather with mixed feelings. There are those who are enjoying the relief of the cold and pleasant weather which will turn to summer heat and humidity within no time. But all is not well and there are many who have troubles with a continuity of the low temperatures. this is especially true for the early mornings and late nights. Shivers and layers of warm clothing are required for residents of the tropical city to face the dropping temperatures.

Students whose winter break is over and the have to wake up early in the morning are having a difficult time. It has become a common rant among parents who have the hurdle of children complaining of the cold but having to get ready for school. It is also the case of commuters and early morning work force who have to brave the weather and start their daily routine. Unaccustomed and unprepared for the sustained cool temperatures is what the city is. For the numerous under privileged lot who have not the luxury of firm shelter or warm and comfortable clothing, it is downright painful.

Doctors have a slew of patients who are coming in from anything between cold, flu, fevers etc and the deluge of children suffering from cold and cough. While the day becomes comfortable with pleasant temperature, the sudden chill post sun down is getting mixed reactions. Vizag Airport has recorded lowest temperature in years and winter in Visakhapatnam was never much a serious business. There are those who are making the most of it by traveling to beautiful locales around town such as Araku and Lamasingi but the mirth is not for all. It is also true to say that there are many who are almost missing the heat. That would be the discussion for another day, though.
