Visakha Utsav 2017: Vizag’s annual fest promises to be back with a bang

Visakhapatnam’s annual festival is all set to be back with a bang. Visakha Utsav, a celebration of the spirits of Visakhapatnam, is a yearly event conducted by the government of Andhra Pradesh in the month of December. This 3-day long festival not only entertains the crowds with many captivating events but also provides a perfect platform to showcase the proud culture, arts, crafts, music, and other distinctions of Visakhapatnam.

As we gear up to bring down the curtains on this year, Visakha Utsav 2017 is all set to end the year on a high. Be it for the cheerful music, the rejuvenating dances, or even the numerous fun-filled activities, this year’s Visakha Utsav gives you multiple reasons to celebrate the vibrancy of Visakhapatnam.

Who’s performing this time?

Apart from the above-mentioned exciting events, this year’s Utsav also boasts of many wonderful artists who will be performing to reinvigorate us.

Here are the artists announced thus far who will be performing at Visakha Utsav 2017.

PADMA SHRI DEVAYANI

Annick Chaymotty, known by the stage name Devayani, will be lighting up the first day of the event with her beautiful classical dance. As per the officials, this will be the first performance by a foreign artist in India to promote Bharata Natyam.

GIPSY SOUND REVOLUTION

The first day of the event will also be marked by some energising performances by Gipsy Sound Revolution.

THAIKKUDAM BRIDGE

A Kerela-based music band that has been taking the internet by storm. The artists of Thaikkudam bridge will be here on the 29th of December to rock our shores with some wonderful music.

KARUNYA AND KALPANA

Visakha Utsav’s second day will witness the popular voices of Kalpana and Karunya croon their magic over the crowd.

SHANMUKHA PRIYA

The young musical sensation from Visakhapatnam will also be performing at this year’s Visakha Utsav. Shanmukha Priya, after bowling over the entire nation with her magical voice, is all geared up to woo the city once again on the final day of the Utsav.

PRITAM

One of the biggest attractions at this year’s event. Bollywood’s star music director Pritam will be performing at our city’s shores on the final day of Visakha Utsav 2017.
