Visakha Utsav 2017
Visakha Utsav, Visakhapatnam’s annual festival, got off to a rollicking start on Thursday. The three-day fest, which will be celebrating the spirits of Visakhapatnam, was inaugurated by prominent personalities including several politicians.
While addressing the gathering, Andhra Pradesh HRD minister, Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao, said, “We are organising Visakha Utsav with a wide range of attractions. We have planned this year’s events in such a way they captivate people across all age groups. Let us welcome the new year with this cheerful spirit.” The minister added, “The tourism industry in Visakhapatnam is flourishing like never before. The fact that even a minister is not able to get a room in a hotel tells us a lot about the current demand in place. Tourists from Odisha, Chattisgarh, West Bengal and other states are visiting the city in high numbers. We will make Visakhapatnam a premium destination for tourism.”
District collector Mr. Pravin Kumar, and film actors Akhil Akkineni and Kalyani Priyadarshan were also present at the event.
The crowd was entertained with many engaging events as the entire beach road rode high on exuberance and vibrancy. The remaining two days of Visakha Utsav 2017 too have a lot in store to keep us all hooked.
