Rushikonda
Over the years, Rushikonda has proved to be a major tourist attraction in Visakhapatnam. Be it the surrounding beaches, or the adventure activities, or even the recently introduced heli-tourism, Rushikonda has been an integral part of a tourist’s guide to the city. In what is coming as a heartening news, this place is all set to get a major boost with several development projects slated to enrich the site.
Rushikonda will soon have an 800-metre long road encompassing the area. An estimated amount of Rs. 2 crores will be used to construct this road from the bus stop of Gayatri Vidya Parishad to the helipad site. Reportedly, this stretch of road will consist of street lights, high-mast lights, rainwater shelters, benches, and umbrellas for the visitors and tourists. It is also learned that this facility will enable the tourists to view the sea from an elevated altitude. In addition, a dedicated parking facility that can accommodate around 100 cars and 300 two-wheelers will help the visitors get relieved from the parking tantrums usually faced at such places.
The officials expect that the newer amenities will help Rushikonda attract more tourists and also revive the heli-tourism, which has been receiving a relatively dull response since it started.
