Three students hit by a lorry, dragged on road in Visakhapatnam

In a terrifying accident in Visakhapatnam, three students were killed after their bike was hit by a lorry near Dharamavaram village of the district. Reportedly, the students, aged between 18 and 20 years, were triple riding on the bike from Yelamanchili to Dharmavaram on Tuesday morning. As per the information revealed by the police, the youngsters were taking a U-turn when a speeding lorry, travelling from Tuni to Visakhapatnam, hit them.

The police further informed that the impact of the hit was so strong that the students, along with the bike, were dragged for some distance before the Highway Patrol police swung into action. Reportedly, the dead bodies of the trio were found at different places, with the last one being identified at a distance of 3 km from the accident spot.

The three students killed in the accident have been identified as Karthik, Naveen, and Sai of S Rayavaram. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem and cases have been registered against the lorry driver for negligent driving.

While a few say that the lorry driver feared to stop after hitting the bike, others cite a probable cause of drunken driving, which might have caused the accident. An investigation is on to gain further insights into the deadly mishap.
