Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, is on a short visit to Vizag on 17 December, 2021. Reportedly, on his visit, he will be officially inaugurating ten projects. Six are undertaken by the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA), and the remaining four by the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC).
Of the ten Visakhapatnam projects that have been lined up to be inaugurated by the CM, three of the projects have been much-awaited for the city. They are the new flyover at NAD Junction, worth Rs. 113 crore, the Multi-Level Car Parking Project (MLCP) at Jagadamba Junction, worth Rs. 11 crore, and the renovated VUDA Park, near Beach Road, worth Rs. 33 crore.
The other Visakhapatnam projects to be inaugurated by the CM include, the trial run for the Waste-to-Energy Processing Plant began on 2 October, 2021. The then GVMC Commissioner, G.Srijana IAS, had flagged off the closed compact vehicle in which solid waste was sent to the plant. As a part of the trial run, 500 tons of waste was processed for generating electricity.
It could be noted that the aforementioned projects awaited official inauguration the last time the Chief Minister was scheduled to visit the city, on 23 October, 2021. The Chief Minister’s trip to Vizag was cancelled for various reasons.
Reportedly, according to the Visakhapatnam District Collector, A Mallikarjuna IAS, the Chief Minister will physically inaugurate at least two projects and the rest will be done virtually.
