The Visakhapatnam police have successfully arrested the mobile phones robbers who were responsible for the robbery in the vicinity of Duvvada Police Station.
The police have seized 30 mobile phones which were worth Rs 3.70 Lakhs from the robbers. The accused, Mekala Srinu from Odisha and M Srinu from Visakhapatnam, were involved in phone thefts and chain snatchings. On investigating the robbers on Tuesday, it has been revealed that the thieves already had pending cases in different police stations. Both of them have been travelling in a Swift car robbing in different places between Odisha and Tirupati.
The stolen phones were being delivered by the accused to Avu Somanadhri alias Chinna in Aakiveedu. The thieves were also involved in robbing at the South subdivision of the city.
DCP Dhamodhar said that Inspector K Paidapunayadu, SI G Santhosh, Head Constable P Narasimha Rao and other officials were successful in catching hold of the robbers.
