Road between Visakhapatnam and Bheemili beach to turn curve free

The curvy road towards Bheemili beach from Visakhapatnam is all set to be converted into a six-lane road.

The state government has decided to remove 13 major and medium curves between Visakhapatnam-Bheemili beach road which stretches along for 26 km. This is to ensure that the travellers will not face any trouble at some of the dangerous curves between the stretch.

Visakhapatnam Collector, Pravin Kumar, IAS, has been directed to make the proposal of removing all the curves by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu at the recent Collector’s Conference held in Amaravati.  

The six-lane road will connect Bhogapuram and Visakhapatnam which will serve the air passengers as the Bhogapuram International Airport would be coming up.

Speaking to The Hans India, a senior official of roads and buildings said

, “It is a challenging task to make the road into a six-lane without curves. However, once the 26-km direct road completed, it will be an international tourist attraction and more number of tourists will come up on the beach front.

In fact, the six-lane road project proposals have been submitted to the government at an estimated cost of Rs 270 crore. But, the project cost will be revised with new proposal to remove all the curves.”

To make Vizag as a tourist hub across the globe, the government also decided to construct beachfront tourist attractions between Bheemili and Vizag.
