Visakhapatnam witnesses record air traffic in October

Visakhapatnam airport has reported a record air traffic in the bygone months. With the tourism season peaking recently in addition to the multiple industrial meetings and international conferences, the city has been witnessing a high inflow of passengers travelling through by air.

Reportedly, as many as 2.40 lakh passengers travelled via Visakhapatnam in October 2018. As per the recent figures published by the Director General of Civil Aviation, the numbers have seen a considerable rise as compared to those recorded last year. Also, the tour operators inform that the number of tourists alone has gone up by 35% in one year.

While the route connecting Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad always witnesses high air traffic, the number of passengers flying in from Bengaluru and Chennai too has increased. Cities of Mumbai Delhi, Kolkata have also seen a surge in passengers travelling to Visakhapatnam.

It has further been learned that the air traffic in November has been registering good numbers as well. Also, the coming months of December and January are expected to witness high air traffic, given the exciting events lined up.
