Biopics have always held a special place in Indian cinema. From narrating the stories of some great characters to proving to be major sources of inspiration, this genre of films has always struck a chord with the audience. With the recently released Mahanati impressing the critics and film lovers alike, the trend of biopics seems to be hitting of Telugu film industry
as well and if the latest reports are to believed, director Teja is all set to direct a biopic on actor Uday Kiran.Uday Kiran was a popular actor in Telugu in the early 2000s and acted in several hit films such as Chitram, Nuvvu Nenu, and Manasantha Nuvve among others. However, the actor experienced a downslide in his career before he committed suicide, amidst mysterious circumstances, in 2014.
Reportedly, director Teja, who recently walked out of NTR’s biopic, is planning to film the story of Uday Kiran. It was Teja who had launched Uday Kiran through his Chitram and later worked with him for Nuvvu Nenu and Avunanna Kadanna.
Reports suggest that the director has registered the title ‘Kaboye Alludu’ for the film. Ever since the project has been announced, a widespread curiosity has been prevalent among various sections of the film industry, given the multiple controversies that surround Uday Kiran’s marriage and death. It remains to be seen how the biopic will be filmed and what aspects of Uday’s life would be shown on the big screen.
