Floral tributes were paid to the mortal remains of Sepoy Mamidi Naga Raju on arrival at the Visakhapatnam Airport here last night. The funeral of Sep Naga Raju was held at his native place, Maradam village in Vijayanagaram this morning today, 01 February 17. Sep Naga Raju while serving in 18 Mahar Regiment died in an Avalanche in Gurez Sector. The body of the Jawan was flown into Visakhapatnam from Srinagar.
Military Honour and Wreath Laying Ceremony was conducted at Shradhanjili Sthal at Airport by Col B Parkhe Admin Commandant, Station HQs (Army) Visakhapatnam as a mark of respect to the deceased with a Ceremonial Guard of the Navy in attendance. Representatives of the District Administration, Police and Zilla Sainik Welfare Officer of Visakhapatnam have also paid tributes to the deceased. Shri Vivek Yadav District Collector, Vizianagaram, DSP Bobbili, Officials from Revenue Department, Zilla Sainik Welfare Office and NCC paid tributes to the departed soul at Maradam village with Police Band in attendance.
