Tollywood producer Bandla Ganesh gets a 6-month jail sentence by court

Tollywood producer Bandla Ganesh was sentenced to 6 months in Jail by Erramanzil court in Hyderabad. The court convicted Ganesh in a ‘check bounce’ case. In addition to the jail sentence, Ganesh was also instructed to pay a fine of Rs 15,86,550. The court also stated that the imprisonment will be extended to three further months if the producer failed to pay the fine. However, the sentence was later suspended when Ganesh submitted the personal bonds to the court.

The producer was charged by writer turned director Vakkantham Vamsi for not handing him over his due payment. The writer, who had written the story for ‘Temper’ in 2015, said that a payment of Rs 26.10 lakh was due to be paid to him. The due amount was given to Vamsi in the form of cheques, all of which bounced later. A report in Deccan Chronicle stated that Vamsi filed a petition in the XVI Special Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Erramanzil in 2015 and a case was registered under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.

Earlier, Bandla Ganesh was in the news for some making controversial remarks on the Nandi Awards.
