Heavy rains likely to hit Vizag in the coming two days

The depression which formed in the Bay of Bengal on Monday has intensified into a deep depression on Tuesday morning and further changed into a cyclone in the afternoon. On speaking to an official from the Cyclone Warning Centre in Vizag, Yo Vizag has received the following Vizag weather update.

The official from the warning centre said, ” The deep depression has intensified into a cyclone and is named as Tipli.” On asking about the present location of the cyclone he mentioned that it is presently located in the East South East, 480 km away from Kalingapatnam and would travel West North West.

” The passing point of the cyclone is between Kalingapatnam and Gopalpur on Wednesday morning,” the official mentioned.

Reportedly, more than moderate speed winds are expected in Vizag. ” As of now, the wind speed is 40-50 km/hr. The wind speed would increase to 60km/hr on Wednesday morning and might further increase in the night,” the official added.

The city would be witnessing moderate to heavy rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday. The fishermen who are in the sea are warned to return and not to venture into the sea.
