Three accused criminals in the Gajuwaka murder case arrested

On the night of 24 January, 2022, Monday, Visakhapatnam District Police have arrested three accused criminals, who were on the run in the Gajuwaka murder case. The victim, who was identified as Prasad (32), a resident of Gopala Reddy Nagar, Gajuwaka, was murdered on the night of  23rd January, 2022, Sunday. The accused criminals S. Srinu (34), S. Simhachalam (32), S. Durga Prasad (21), who were also residents of Gopala Reddy Nagar, were said to be relatives of the deceased person.

Circle Inspector of Gajuwaka Police Station, H. Mallesawara Rao, stated that the criminals have caught the victim off guard on a dark street, while he was walking back home on Sunday Night. The three of them then pounced onto Prasad, and attacked him with steel rods, and knives, and escaped from the scene. Due to serious injuries, the victim had succumbed to death on the spot. Upon finding the dead body on the streets of Gopala Reddy Nagar, the Gajuwaka Police have immediately registered a case and initiated an investigation to capture the criminals.

After thorough investigation, the police had caught the accused near the Y Junction in Gajuwaka, and were produced at the court. The accused admitted to their crime, and stated that they had financial disputes with the victim. They added that the deceased owed them Rs. 80,000, and refused to repay the amount. After asking for repayment multiple times, the three of them decided to carry this criminal act of killing him. The circle inspector added that on the orders of the court, the criminals were sent to remand to the Visakhapatnam Central Jail, thus solving the Gajuwaka murder case.
