Theatre plays, puppet shows and more at the Vizag Junior Lit Fest 2025!

Andhra Pradesh’s only children’s literary festival, the Vizag Junior Lit Fest, is back this year with its sixth edition on November 8 and 9 at Hawa Mahal. Organised by the LitLantern Culture and Literature Society, a registered not-for-profit society, this event is designed to expose young minds to the enchanting and beautiful world of literature.

The poster for the fest was revealed by LitLantern directors Sandhya Venugopal Godey, Priya Uppalapati, and Sonal Sarda, storyteller Vikram Sridhar, and other delegates.

The two-day festival will feature over 100 sessions for children aged 4 to 16, as well as adults. These will include puppet shows, interactive storytelling, parenting workshops for adults, and various innovative sessions. The main focus of the Vizag Junior Lit Fest 2025 moves beyond writing and reading to encompass personality development, skill development, and themes that resonate with children and young adults. Thought-provoking topics will be explored at the festival, including happiness, wellbeing, confidence, empathy, positivity, self-belief, and leadership.

Highlights to look forward to!

The Vizag Junior Lit Fest will feature popular authors, life coaches, cartoonists, and illustrators like Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan, Vaishali Shroff, Vikram Sridhar, Abhishek Talwar, Nupur Aggarwal, Ajit Narayan, and Jyoti Pande, among others.

Another highlight for the participants is the theatre performances by the renowned Helen O’Grady International theatre group from Mumbai, the world’s largest after-school development drama programme. Each day will conclude with the theatre performances of Shakesphere’s The Tempest and The Sound of Music. Children and young readers will have an opportunity to interact with their favourite authors, purchase books, and get them signed as well.

The event will feature both indoor and outdoor sessions. While the outdoor sessions are free for all, the indoor sessions are priced at Rs 250 each. Slots for these are available.

The chief guests for the event are Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Chairman of the TDP Parliamentary Party, and the Vice Chairman of Vigyan University, with MP M. Sribharat serving as the Guest of Honour. The fest will be held from 11 am to 7 pm on both days.

With many famous writers, illustrators, and storytellers travelling to the city for the event, this weekend will be filled with entertainment and fun from the Vizag Junior Lit Fest 2025!
