For the past many years, Bollywood has turned to South for remaking some blockbusters. Starting off with Aamir Khan’s Ghajini, films such as Wanted, Rowdy Rathore, and Kick have caught the crowds captive in the last decade. The trend doesn’t seem to fade off any soon with a few more Hindi remakes lined up to emulate the successes achieved by their Telugu originals. Here are 3 upcoming Hindi films that are the remakes of recent Telugu movies.
Starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in the leads, Simmba is the Hindi remake of Telugu hit film Temper. The 2015 Telugu film had Jr NTR and Kajal Aggarwal playing the main leads and got the cash registers ringing at the box office. Apart from winning Jr NTR many accolades for his terrific portrayal of a badass cop, the Puri Jagannadh directorial was also hailed for its enticing narration. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Simmba flick will be hitting the screens soon.
Grabbing the headlines much before its release is the Hindi remake of popular Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, Kabir Singh is the Bollywood avatar of the raging youngster from down South who set the box office on fire last year. The film is being directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga also and will be releasing on 21 June 2019. On the other hand, the Tamil version of Arjun Reddy, starring Dhruv, too will be hitting the screens soon.
One of the recent Telugu movies, RX100, which grew extremely popular among the younger audiences, is all set to be remade in Hindi. To be bankrolled by renowned filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala, the film will be marking the acting debut of actor Suniel Shetty’s son, Ahan Shetty. The film is also likely to be remade in Tamil with Aadhi Pinsetty playing the male lead.
