A massive fire broke out at popular actor Chiranjeevi’s farmhouse on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Friday morning. Reportedly, the fire damaged the sets, worth Rs 2 crore, that were erected for his upcoming periodic drama ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’. Luckily, no one was injured in the accident as it was an off day for the cast and crew of the film.
A video of the fire accident, at the farmhouse of Chiranjeevi, showed that parts of the film’s sets were gutted after being caught in flames. Police said that an electric short circuit was suspected to be the reason behind the fire accident. The accident might be viewed as a major setback to the film, which has already been delayed due to several reasons.
Starring Chiranjeevi in the lead role, ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ is based on the life of historical figure Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Directed by Surender Reddy, the film also features Amitabh Bachchan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Kiccha Sudeep and Jagapathi Babu among a slew of stars. The project is being bankrolled by Chiranjeevi’s son, Ram Charan, under the banner of Konidela Productions. The mega film is likely to hit the screens towards the end of 2019, a few sources say.
