Swine Flu spreads its tentacles in Visakhapatnam

The deadly demons of swine flu continue to create panic among the citizens in Visakhapatnam. While it was earlier reported that a 28-year-old woman succumbed to the disease in the city a few weeks ago, five more cases have been tested positive recently.

Reportedly, the doctors in King George Hospital, who have examined 34 patients for swine flu on Thursday, five of them were confirmed positive. This comes after a 21-year-old man from Anakapalle and a 27-year-old man from Eluru died off swine flu this week. Reportedly, both the deceased were initially admitted to King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam.

With this, the district’s officials have been busy making arrangements for getting the situation under control. It has also been learned that the District Collector has directed the officials to arrange for awareness programs on swine flu across the district.

Earlier, it was also decided to set up screening centres at Visakhapatnam airport, Railway station and RTC Complex to screen the individuals coming from other cities.

In another worrying report, it has been informed that as many 138 people in Andhra Pradesh tested positive for swine flu in Andhra Pradesh, with Kurnool, Visakhapatnam, and Chittoor districts being the most-affected ones.
