Woman Burnt Alive SUV
In a horrifying freak accident, a woman travelling in a Scorpio SUV was burnt alive in Visakhapatnam district. The incident happened on the early hours today in Rayavaram mandal.
The vehicle that caught fire due to over-heating claimed the life of Nagamani, while her husband Ramana was rescued. Locals who gathered at the scene of the incident managed to pull him to safety and tried to put out the fire.
Malfunctioning of the central locking system reportedly could have led the car to catch fire. But TV9 reported that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and several questions are yet to be answered.
Nagamani was sitting in the backseat and her husband at the front when the car caught fire. Reportedly, her husband Ramana immediately called relatives, presumably for help, instead of the ambulance or the police. The police have registered a case and further details are awaited.
Nagamani and Ramana were returning to Vijayawada from their native place when the incident occurred. Nagamani’s body has been sent to post-mortem.
