Sri Lankan Airlines To Debut In Visakhapatnam

Good news for all those wanting to travel to Sri Lanka & in general just wanting much better international connectivity from Vizag! No longer do you have to fly from elsewhere instead of from Visakhapatnam because the Tours and Travels Association of Andhra Pradesh has officially announced the operation of Sri Lankan Airlines from the city. The flight operations will be kickstarting from July 8.

The flight will operate four times per week on every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. It will leave Colombo at 7:10 AM and arrive at Vizag by 9:10 AM. The departure from Vizag will be at 10:10 AM, reaching Colombo by 12:15 PM. Sri Lankan Airlines has even launched special Economy Fares for ticketing before May 17 and for travel till November.

Their special pricing is as follows:

Bangkok – Rs 14,775/-

Kuala Lumpur – Rs 14,433/-

Singapore – Rs 14,584/-

Sri Lankan Airlines has apart from this also announced a 20% off on all their routes from Vizag. Travelers can now fly via the airlines from Visakhapatnam to Beijing, Shanghia, Tokyo, London, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Male, Seychelles, Gan, Dubai, Bahrain, Muscat, Abh Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh and Jeddah.

The special airfares for these that are inclusive of all taxes are as follows:

Colombo – Rs 13,000/-

Dubai and Middle East – Rs 20,000-23,000/-

London – Rs 44,000/-

Beijing and Shanghai – Rs 28,000/-

Tokyo – Rs 44,000/-

The airlines will be operating brand new A320 and A321 Neo – one of its kind of aircraft operating in South East Asia. Travellers can also avail a free Transit Visa for a connecting flight that is between 8-24 hours, and enabling passengers to go on a city tour of Colombo.
