The works of world-class sports city and housing scheme in Vizag took to a start as the state government issued government orders for land pooling scheme.
To be implemented by the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA), the sports city would be established at Tri-Junction near Sabbavaram and housing at Kommadi and Pardesipalem.
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has mentioned that Vizag would be constituting a sports city in the likes of Gachibowli at Gajuwaka, Sabbavaram, and Parawada Junction.
Comprising a coaching centre, a medical centre, indoor and outdoor playgrounds to host international events, the proposed city needs another 150 acres which would be acquired after land pooling.
In a recent survey, 990.89 acres out of 1570.04 acres for the sporting city has been identified by the authority.
GVMC would be allocated with 400 acres for the housing scheme and 25% of the land would be given to VUDA to meet the expenses.
The residential share would be 900 square yards and the developer would be getting 1520 sq yards.
The order also states that the land pooling works should be completed in six months.
