Visakhapatnam to Yelahanka (Karnataka) is one of the most frequented rail traffic routes. Keeping in mind the increase in passengers during this forthcoming Sankranthi festive season, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) authorities have decided to run a special train between Visakhapatnam and Yelahanka. This is a Sankranthi special train for just one trip.
The special train (Train No: 08577) will leave Visakhapatnam on 16 January, 2022 (Sunday) at 3:55 pm and reach Yelahanka on the next day at 09:00 am.
On the return route, the train (Train No: 08578) will leave Yelahanka on 17 January, 2022 (Monday) at 10:15 am and will reach Visakhapatnam on the next day at 05:00 am.
The various stoppages for this special train, between Visakhapatnam and Yelahanka, are Duvvada, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Ongole, Gudur, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai and Krishnarajpuram. The train consists of Two-Tier AC (three coaches), Sleeper Class (ten coaches), General Second Class (six coaches), and Second Class cum luggage (two coaches).
Earlier the ECoR has scheduled a special train (Train No: 07485/07486) between Secunderabad to Brahmapur. Apart from this, the East Coast Railway has attached additional coaches to special demand trains in the month of January. Both the aforementioned trains will halt at the Visakhapatnam Railway Station. The Secunderabad-Bhubaneswar Express (Train No:17016/17015), Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Garibrath (TrainNo:12740/12739), and Visakhapatnam-Kacheguda Express (Train No:12861/12861) have been attached with additional coaches to clear the Sankranthi holiday rush.
Passengers should adhere to the COVID-19 protocols during the journey. All the passengers must must wear masks and carry their own hand sanitizers. If they violate these rules, they will be fined.
