‘Class of 80s’ held in Chennai to reunite the superstars from south film industries

It was time for the annual bash of the 80s superstars and boy didn’t they pep up the event. The eight edition of ‘Class of 80s’, which is held every year to reunite the South Superstars, was held in Chennai.

Hosted by Suhasini Mani Ratnam and Lissy, the event saw a total of 28 actors celebrate their friendship.

It was the first time that the event, which was held on 17 and 18 of November, was celebrated for two days.

Suhasini Mari Ratnam was quoted by The Hindu as saying, “While we have been toying with the idea of having the reunion over a weekend for a few years now, we did not think it would be possible given everyone’s schedule. This year, however, many said that they were keen to have it over two days and we decided to have it in Mahabalipuram.”

Many superstars, including Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Jackie Shroff, Revathi, Jayasudha, Ramya Krishnan, and others, were all dressed up in purple, which seemed to be the common theme of the event.

Suhasini also added, “We had such a good time catching up and bonding after so long that we decided to make it a regular affair. While it was initially just stars from the south, Jackie Shroff and Poonam Dhillon have been joining us for the past three years too.”

While the first day of the event was packed with entertainment, including a musical concert by singer Sriram, the second day witnessed the participants share their experiences and memories with the fellow co-stars.

‘Class of 80s’, which first started in 2009, was also attended by other superstars like Rajnikant, Kamal Hassan, and Balakrishna in its previous editions.
