Silk Mark Expo To Hold ‘Vizag Srimathi Silk’ In The City

Gear up ladies of Vizag, the second edition of the ‘Vizag Srimathi Silk’ is almost here. If authentic weaves and beauty pageants are your thing, then now’s your chance to compete against other beautiful women and grab the title of ‘Srimathi Silk Mark Vizag 2017’.  

The competition is open only to married women with the aim of promoting the traditional value of authentic Indian textiles across generations. Vizag Srimathi Silk will take place at the Silk Mark Expo 2017, which will be held from January 1-8, 2017. Authentic silk from all over India will be featured at the Expo that will take place right before Pongal.

The Silk Mark Organisation of India, promoted by Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, came up with the contest specifically crafted for married women. ‘Srimathi Silk Mark’ that was first held in Hyderabad and came to the port city last year due to the overwhelming response here the Expos received.

Contestants looking forward to participate need to fill certain criteria. They should be passionate about silks and be aware of the different qualities of weaves. They should also have good communication and presentation skills. All the participants must be draped in a traditional silk saree and be armed with a recollection about their personal connect with Silk Mark.  

The grand finale will take place on January 7, 2017. The exciting prizes in store for the finalists include gift hampers and the titular crown of ‘Srimathi Silk Mark Vizag 2017’.
