Relating to this, Union Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal, posted a video on his Twitter handle on Tuesday and quoted,” Retracing the Epic Journey of Lord Rama: Indian Railways to introduce a special tourist train ‘Shri Ramayana Express’ which will cover all the places from Ayodhya to Colombo via Rameshwaram, on the Ramayana circuit.”
Departing from Safdarjung Railway Station in New Delhi on November 14, the special tourism train will journey for 16 days covering right from Ayodhya to Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Varanasi, Prayag, Shringaverpur, Chitrakoot, Hampi, Nasik, and Rameshwaram.
The Shri Ramayana Express will comprise 800 seats and would cost Rs 15,120 for a person to book a seat. The booking would be opening shortly on the website of IRCTC and also at 27 of its tourist facilitation centres across the country.
Not just the places in our country, the Railways is also providing a chance to visit places related to Lord Rama’s journey in Sri Lanka, which would be a part of a special package charging extra.
