Royal Enfield faces the rage of angry Pegasus customers

Royal Enfield, known for its bullet brand value, has landed in a controversy as the owners of the limited edition, Pegasus 500cc, are blaming the company for releasing another bike that allegedly has similar specifications. The 250 owners of the Pegasus edition across the country are venting out anger for the same and are blaming the company for making Pegasus lose its exclusivity.

Naveen K from Vizag is one of the owners of this model in the city. “The sale of Pegasus ‘limited edition’ lasted for 178 seconds and I was one of the happiest people to get my hands on the bike. A month after the bike was delivered to me, I got to know that the company is releasing a much cheaper Classic 350 Signals bike with similarities of stencilled numbers, bags and design,” he says.

Expressing dissatisfaction, he further added, “There is almost nothing ‘exclusive’ in Pegasus when compared to the Classic 350 Signals and moreover, the latter is being provided with an ABS technology. Even the price of Signals is lesser than that of Pegasus.”

Reportedly, another disgruntled owner of Pegasus in India has allegedly thrown his bike in the dump yard calling it “Pegasus Garbage”.

Amidst all of this controversy, Royal Enfield reverted saying that while both the bikes shared the same platform, they were unique in terms of inspiration.
