The cricketing world is currently abuzz with Rashid Khan. The leggie from Afghanistan set the stage on fire on Friday when he single-handedly propelled Sunrisers Hyderabad to the finals of the IPL 2018. Thanks to his heroics with both bat and ball, the man has been receiving overwhelming accolades from all across the globe, including a special tweet from Tollywood
superstar Mahesh Babu.Mahesh Babu, who is known to be an ardent follower of cricket, seemed to be bowled over by Khan’s magic on the field against Kolkata Knight Riders in the tournament’s second qualifier. The ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ actor, who was excited about Hyderabad making it to the finals, tweeted, “Take a bow Rashid Khan. Whatta match by Sunrisers…Can’t wait for Sunday…Congratulations to the whole team.(sic)”
The fans were in for a pleasant surprise when Rashid Khan replied to Mahesh Babu with a heartening message.
“Thank you bro…watching your movies keenly..(sic),” tweeted the cricketer from Afghanistan in reply to the actor’s tweet.
Several other celebrities too took to Twitter to congratulate Rashid Khan and Surnirers Hyderabad for their match-winning performance. While Ranveer Singh said he was happy for Kane Williamson and it’s going to be an exciting final on Sunday, Telugu actor Sai Dharam Tej too praised the brilliant effort by the leg-spinner.
Khan’s 34 runs off 10 balls and 3-19 with the ball proved to be the major factors in helping the Orange Army cruise into the final, where they will be locking horns with MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings.
