Rana Daggubati
The NTR biopic is turning out to be one of the most awaited films in Tollywood. With Nandamuri Balakrishna all set to play the titular role, and the script almost locked, the filmmakers are currently on the hunt for the remaining cast of the film. While it has been learned that Vidya Balan will be playing the role of Basavatharakam, the latest reports suggest that actor Rana Daggubati might be roped in for the role of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and NTR’s son-in-law, Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
“The producers met with Rana Daggubati and discussed the role. Rana has expressed an interest in taking it up, but they’re still at the discussion stage. Rana’s confirmation may come within a week,” a source was quoted as saying by Deccan Chronicle.
Rana, who grew as a star at the national level with Baahubali, has been busy signing various projects and playing a wide range of characters in the recent past. His Nene Raju Nene Mantri, which was a taut political drama, also saw him play the role of a shrewd politician.
With director Teja choosing to opt out of the project, it is also being speculated that the directorial duties might be shouldered by Balakrishna. The NTR biopic is expected to hit the screens on the occasion of Sankranti in 2019, as informed by its producer, Vishnu Induri.
