Andhra Pradesh - Progress - Open Stand
The Andhra Pradesh State Government has introduced a progress card system to monitor the implementation of the various memorandums of understanding (MoUs) registered in the last 26 months. These have been done in conjunction with the Industries Department of the Government. The official data shows that 61% of the MoUs are in various stages of completion, including those entered during the Partnership Summit in Vizag.
According to officials of the Industries Department, 124 of the 355 MoUs have proceeded to the next stage of implementation. As many as 94 projects are in various stages of implementation, while a few projects were already been commissioned.
As part of the new tracking, or progress, system, the Industries Department divided the projects into ‘red’ and ‘green’ categories. The projects listed under the ‘green’ (progressing well) category will bring in a total investment of about Rs 34,000 crores. Those included in the ‘red’ category are projects that are yet to begin work or prepare the detailed project report for submission.
Overall, this sort of progress review will ensure that both the investment amounts, and the projects, are utilised fully for the growth of the State.
