Kerala Tourism Minister slams Malayalam actors; says they should learn from Prabhas

Telugu actor Prabhas, who rose to national fame with the stupendous success of Baahubali, has reportedly donated Rs 1 crore to the Kerala flood victims.

The Chief Minister of the state, Pinarayi Vijayan, had also reached out to the world asking for help in the time of grief as Kerala witnessed one the worst disasters in its history.

Many superstars from the film fraternity, including the likes of Shahrukh Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput, A.R Rehman, Allu Arjun, Vijay, and others, have contributed towards the flood relief and help resurrect the state’s condition post the devastating floods.

However, the donations made by a few Malayalam stars haven’t quite impressed the Kerala State Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran. Speaking at an event, the minister said that there were many stars in Kerala who were getting paid Rs 3-4 crores per film. Commenting in the context of the donation made by Prabhas, Surendran said

, “All of them should learn from an actor from Andhra who has no inclination towards Malayalam and who has given Rs 1 crore. He did not hesitate, he heard about the tragedy and came.”
