Hyderabad resident lodges police complaint against Anasuya, for allegedly breaking her son’s phone

Popular anchor-actor Anasuya Bharadwaj finds herself amidst a controversy, as a woman in Hyderabad lodged a complaint against her. In a video that has gone viral on social media, the complainant alleged that the ‘Kshanam’ star broke her son’s phone for trying to take a selfie with her.

The incident occurred on Monday when Anasuya visited Tarnaka in Hyderabad

for some work and was spotted by a 6th standard boy. The boy’s mother, who lodged a police complaint against Anasuya, claimed that the boy approached the actress for a selfie which allegedly led to an ugly turn of events as the anchor ended up breaking the boy’s phone.

“Yes, we have received a complaint regarding this today. We are looking at the evidence and enquiring into this matter. From what we know, Anasuya had refused to take a selfie and while she was hurriedly leaving, the boy’s phone broke,” Jagan, SHO Osmania University Police Station, was quoted as saying by ToI.

“Anasuya had gone to Tarnaka area on some work and a kid who happened to spot her on the road, approached her to take a selfie with her. Anasuya, who doesn’t like this sort of thing, grabbed the mobile phone from the kid’s hand and flung it down, damaging it in the process.” the police complaint stated

. The complaint also alleged that Anasuya had used ‘abusive’ language.

The ‘Jabardhast’ anchor, on the other hand, has said that the woman was spreading lies. She commented, “Not that the country needs such news, but to those to whom I am answerable. I’m sorry her phone broke but I think it’s not fair that I should be blamed for what I reportedly didn’t do. We need our privacy.”

Subsequently, Anasuya deactivated her Twitter and Facebook accounts after many irked netizens flooded her accounts and bashed the anchor for alleged “rude” behaviour.
