In view of the Navy Day on December 4, the Eastern Naval Command of Indian Navy has started the pre-celebrations on Friday in Vizag.
Mega blood donation camp was organised by the Easter Fleet at Naval Dockyard. After the inaugural ceremony by the Commanding Officer of INS Ranjit, Captain Vikram Mehra, as many as 268 personnel donated blood in the camp. The blood collected was later given to NTR Trust Blood Bank.
In the month of November, Organ Donation Seminar, Special Children visit to INS Dega and Eastern Fleet ships, public performances by Naval Band, two more blood donation camps and an outreach programme along with a medical camp would be conducted.
The fourth edition of Vizag-Navy Marathon would be conducted on November 18. For the school children, Naval ships would be open on November 24-25.
On the occasion of the Navy Day, the ENC would conduct a Naval Operational Display at the RK Beach every year on 4 December. The event highlights the multi-dimensional warfare capability of the Indian Navy in protecting the vast maritime borders and offshore assets of our country. All Flag Officers of the Command and a large number of officers, sailors and Defence civilian employees of the Navy would be present on the occasion.
