“We are committed to North Andhra”: PM Narendra Modi in Visakhapatnam

On a breezy evening in Visakhapatnam, the stage was set for an electrifying public meeting of BJP. The party’s Praja Chaitanya Sabha, which was held at the Railway Grounds on Friday in the city, was presided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event witnessed a massive turnout as PM Modi arrived at the scene around 7 PM to address his supporters.

After raising the slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai, Modi thrilled the mammoth gathering by speaking a few lines in Telugu. “I feel delighted when I visit the beautiful city of Visakhapatnam. The land is known for Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, folk hero Alluri Sitarama Raju, and Tenneti Viswanadham. Visakhapatnam plays an important role in contributing to the development of the industrial and tourism sectors of the country. We are committed towards the development of North Andhra,” the Prime Minister said in a smattering of Telugu.

PM Narendra Modi said that Visakhapatnam stands as the city of dreams for many youngsters across the country and it is his government’s priority to strive to take the people towards a brighter future. He then shared that the newly announced South Coastal Railway, with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters, reflects the commitment of the NDA government towards Andhra Pradesh.

Congratulating the gathering on the fulfillment of its age-old demand, Modi shared that the new railway zone will help in better rail connectivity, increased comfort for the passengers, the creation of more jobs and also in the strengthening of the local economy. He further added that the centre had taken several steps and implemented projects for turning Visakhapatnam into a smart city.

Taking a dig at the local leadership, Modi said that the state government was targetting the centre to mask its failed governance. He stated that despite all the criticism against him, BJP will come back to power in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to provide all-round development for the state.

BJP leaders Vishnu Kumar Raju, Kambhampati Hari Babu, Manikyala Rao, GVL Narasimha Rao, Daggubati Purandeswari and others marked their presence at the meeting.
