In what is expected to provide a major boost to BJP ahead of the upcoming elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Andhra Pradesh later this month. Scheduled to reach out to the electorate in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, PM Modi will mark his presence twice in a span of four days in the state.
According to BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao, the Prime Minister is slated to address election rallies in Kurnool on 29 March and Rajamahendravaram on 1 April. Confirming the visits of Narendra Modi to Andhra Pradesh, Rao, on Sunday, said that the PM would take part in Vijaya Sankalp Sabha in the state to reach out to the people. The BJP leader also opined that the party would do well in the state’s politics.
Narendra Modi last visited Andhra Pradesh on 1 March to address a public meeting in Visakhapatnam. Organised at the Railway Grounds in the city, the meeting saw him take a dig at the local government and exude confidence that despite all the criticism against him, BJP would come to power in the upcoming elections and ensure all-round development to the state. The visit though was protested by the ruling Telugu Desam Party and members of other political parties, who demanded that the Modi-led government grants special status to Andhra Pradesh.
