The Narendra Modi government will soon be completing 4 years since it took the office in 2014. A recent survey, by citizen engagement platform LocalCircles, revealed that 57% of the respondents were satisfied with the current government, as compared to the 64% registered in 2016.
A report in India Today, while quoting the survey, says that the Narendra Modi-led government has fallen short when it comes to people’s expectations in the government tackling communalism related issues. While 63% of the respondents in 2016 had said that the government was effective in handling issues related to communalism, the number fell down to 50% in the latest survey.
Farm crisis is another area of concern for the Modi government as 47% opined that the condition of farmers has not improved as compared to the 37% of the respondents who thought otherwise.
Coming to job creation, 54% believed that the government hasn’t been able to reduce the rate of unemployment as compared to 63% last year. 35% citizens said that the unemployment rate has reduced in the last 4 years.
The current government also enjoyed the majority’s support with its support to keep the prices of the essential commodities in check.
Despite the numerous cases of crime being reported against women and children, an increased 4% from the last year felt that there is a reduction in crime against women and children.
