Telugu Movies in the past decade that everyone needs to watch

There are many Telugu movies made each year. While some of them go on to become massive commercial hits, there are a few movies that need to be watched by everyone. Be it for their technical aspects or their novel concepts, these films have won the hearts of many movie lovers all over the world.

So let’s look at some of the Telugu movies that have managed to garner a cult following and have to be suggested to those who haven’t watched them yet.

Gamyam

Starring Sarvanand and Allari Naresh in the lead roles, this was the directorial debut of Krish. The movie shows the journey of a spoilt brat, Abhi (Sarvanand) who sets on a journey to find his lost love. Abhi explores different aspects of life on his way and gets to know what true love and humanity are.

The film was highly praised by the critics for its thought-provoking line and went to become a hit at the Box Office.

Vedam

Vedam is a multi-starred movie that cast Allu Arjun, Manoj Bajpayee, Manchu Manoj and Anushka Shetty in the leads. The movie has different stories that come together at the end to face a terror attack. The movie showcases the fact that no matter how busy human beings can get in tackling their own problems, they still remain humane at the core of their heart.

Even though the movie didn’t do quite well at the box office, it has received wide applause from different quarters.

Prasthanam

A tight political drama that keeps you glued to your seats. Prasthanam has Sai Kumar, Sharwanand, and Sundeep Kishan as its lead cast. The movie shows the dark side of family politics. It also tells how low one can get in the desire for power.

Fueled by some superb performances, Prasthanam is a must watch for its gripping story and the bold portrayal of human-mind sets.

Eega is a true testament to director Rajamouli’s genius. It is a graphical wonder that was received superbly well by audiences of all ages across all over the globe. Rajamouli successfully managed to combine a gripping plot with high-grade visuals to make Eega a smash hit at the Box Office.

Kanche

Another film from director Krish makes on to the list. Kanche is India’s first movie to be filmed with a backdrop of second World War. Telling the importance of human relationships and their different facets, is one of Krish’s biggest strengths. This is what he brought to the table once again with Kanche. It shows the significance of living together in harmony in a society.

Kshanam

Kshanam is a very well made thriller with a taut screenplay. Casting some underrated actors as the leads, director Ravikanth Perepu stunned everyone with his debut directorial venture. Running high on suspense and drama, Kshanam is an edge of the seat thriller that you can’t afford to miss.

Oopiri

Oopiri is a remake of the French film ‘The Intouchables’. Powered by the superb performances of Nagarjuna and Karthi, this movie was one of 2016’s biggest hits. The movie has a heart-touching story line with a beautiful narration. In fact, the movie is now being remade in Hollywood as well.

Baahubali

A movie that needs no introduction. Rajamouli’s magnum-opus has broken records all over the world and has set new benchmarks. Filmed in two parts, Baahubali is packed with top notch cinematography. Backed by an engaging plot and some supremely choreographed action sequences, this marvel is surely the pride of Indian cinema.
