Missing Visakhapatnam Police constable found dead near Vizianagaram

A missing Visakhapatnam Police constable, D. Srinivasa Naidu (aged 38), from MVP Police Station, Crime Wing, was found dead on 08 January, 2022. He had left for his native town, Nandivanivalasa in Vizianagaram District, on a medical leave on 31 December, 2021. Constable Naidu had decided to return to Visakhapatnam the same day on some urgent work, despite his medical leave.

The parents of the missing Visakhapatnam Police constable approached the Garugubilli Police Station on 01 January, 2022 to file a missing person complaint. They informed the police that their son started for Visakhapatnam at around 9:15pm, on a bike, on 31 December, 2021. After receiving neither a confirmation of the constable reaching Visakhapatnam, nor coming back to Nandivanivalasa , they decided to bring this to the attention of the police.

Three search parties, headed by Elwinpeta Circle Inspector, TV Tirupati Rao, commenced the search for the missing constable. After rigorous lookout, the missing Visakhapatnam Police constable was found dead near ITDA park at Thotapalle under Garugubilli mandal, on 8 January, 2022. While Constable Naidu’s family members believe that he has been murdered, the police did not rule out the possibility of a bike accident. The police added that a case under suspicious death has been registered and the investigation to surface the truth will intensify once the autopsy reports are out.
