Millennium towers in Visakhapatnam to be operational soon

In what is expected to prove to be yet another feather to the booming IT scene in Visakhapatnam, the Millennium Towers are set to get operational from 15 February.

Announcing the same, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister, Nara Lokesh tweeted, “Millennium Towers coming up in Vizag will be operational from 15th of February. This new landmark of Vizag will be home to many IT and BPO companies that will create several hundred jobs for local residents.”

The sea-facing Millennium Towers in Visakhapatnam will have two buildings namely Tower A and Tower B. It may be noted that a G.O has been issued to allocate 1 lakh sft built-up space in four floors to Conduent Technologies for six months without any charge. The company, which is headquartered in New Jersey, offers digital platforms for businesses and governments and operates in close to 40 countries. Conduent is expected to provide employment to about 5000 people in a phased manner.

Reportedly, the towers are IoT enabled, and have been constructed with green technologies and would be capable of resisting winds of speed up to 200 kmph.

Tower-B, would be consisting of eight storeys and be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 55 crores, it was earlier reported.

“The Tower-A has 10 floors and two of them will serve as parking places for 500 cars. We have earmarked 1.5 lakh sft exclusively for parking lots. The Tower-B with eight floors and a total built-up space of 1 lakh sft is expected to be ready for operations by October,” APIIC Zonal Manager C. Yettirajulu was quoted as saying by The Hindu.
