Millennium Tower Finally Coming To Reality!

The much hyped about Millennium Tower is finally being executed. The cyclone-resistant and internet-of-things enabled tower is being built at a good pace and expected to reach completion by September.

The tower that will face the sea and be housed on Rushikonda Hills has expectations on it to be the structure that puts Visakhapatnam on the map as the IT capital of ‘Navya Andhra Pradesh’. The structure that is the pet project of AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) is being funded by the Information and Communication Technology Department of the state.

Other than the cost of the four acres of land it is being constructed upon, Millennium Tower is being constructed with a cost of Rs 180 crore. V Srinivasa Moorthy, CEO of AP Electronics and IT Agency (APEITA) told The Hindu that they’re confident of the tower being a landmark to promote IT in Visakhapatnam and that the construction work is progressing in a speedy manner. He further stated that the focus will now be on start-ups, companies specialising in financial and new-age technologies like blockchain, cyber security, IoT and cloud computing.

The ambitious project that Millennium Tower is, it will have 2,00,000 sft of built up space and an additional 1,50,000 sft space allocated for parking. Located close to the Sunrise Incubation Hub, the first of the two towers is expected to reach completion by June or July. At the moment, the APEITA is renting buildings from VUDA, private owners on VIP Road and Rushikonda, and Tech Mahindra so as to allot space to IT companies and start-ups. The buildings will have a 5000 seater facility.
