Superstar Mahesh Babu’s latest movie, Spyder, is currently running in theatres all over the world. Spyder is a bilingual action-thriller directed by AR Murugadoss. The movie, which released on September 27th, is one of the costliest movies ever made in Tollywood. It cast SJ Surya and Rakul Preet Singh in other prominent roles.
However, there has been something that has been pestering many fans in Tollywood for quite some time now. Movie reviewers are putting out their reviews even before a movie’s first screening has started. This is playing a role in affecting the audience’s choice of going to the theatre to watch the movie or not. According to many Mahesh Babu’s fans, this is what exactly hit Spyder as well. A particular website tweeted a disappointing review of the movie at 3.30 am of 27th September’s morning. In fact, producer Shobu Yarlagadda also vented his disappointment over this tweet by saying that it was not all fair to post a movie’s review even before its first screening.
Taking the same issue forward, Mahesh Babu’s fans in Vizag let out their anger at the Sangam Sarat theatre. Yesterday, the fans gathered at the theatre and expressed their views on this matter. They felt that apart from the pre-release reviews, some negative reviews were spread on social media in a planned manner. The fans even burnt down the images of certain reviewers. Talking to the media, the agitators said that it was not at all fair on the website’s part to influence the viewer’s choice at such an early stage.
Recently, even actor Jr NTR lashed out at critics for penning down negative reviews at a very early stage of a movie’s theatrical run. Watch the video here:
