Lorry Drivers To Be Trained By The Andhra Pradesh Government

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Andhra Pradesh Government is planning to set up training institutes for lorry drivers in Northern Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema regions. This decision was made due to the increase in the numbers of logistics parks and multi-modal logistic hubs Visakhapatnam and other areas.

Foundation stone for training institute was recently laid at Darsi in Prakasam district. Two such institutes would be set up in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagram.

The lorry operators of Andhra Pradesh complained the lack of drivers. Earlier the sons of the drivers would continue their job but now everyone is opting for different jobs. Another reason for the decline in the number of drivers is because people prefer to become auto drivers since they can spend nights at their homes. An institution is important in Vizag because Vizag is expected to handle 120 to 150 million tones of cargo through ports in the next 4 to 5 years.
