Janasena Party MP candidate and former CBI Joint Director (JD), VV Lakshmi Narayana initiated a beach clean-up drive in Vizag on Sunday. The Janasena leader was joined by several party members and volunteers to clean up the RK beach in the city.
Speaking to reporters, Lakshmi Narayana said, “After the completion of the polls on 11 April, I decided to visit different parts of the city and interact with sections of people to gain a better understanding of the issues being faced by them. In this regard, I met the fishermen and discussed their issues for about two hours.”
“The beach is one of the major landmarks in Vizag and it is important to maintain the cleanliness here to attract the tourists. In Mumbai, college students come together to clean up the Juhu beach on a weekly schedule. We plan to introduce a similar model for Vizag as well,” Lakshmi Narayana further added.
Stating that there were many plastic spoons collected from the area during the beach clean-up drive, the Vizag MP candidate noted that there’s a need to raise awareness on the hazards of plastic in the society.
