Popular Indian actor Irrfan Khan on Monday tweeted that he is suffering from a “rare disease”. The actor added that he will soon share the conclusive diagnosis. Irrfan Khan, aged 51, took to Twitter to share the news with his fans and well-wishers.

“Sometimes you wake up with a jolt with life-shaking you up. The last fifteen days, my life has been a suspense story. Little had I known that my search for rare stories would make me find a rare disease. I have never given up and have always fought for my choices and always will. My family and friends are with me and we are working it out the best way possible. In trying times, please don’t speculate as I will myself share with you my story within a week – ten days when the further investigations come with a conclusive diagnosis. Till then, wish the best for me,” Irrfan tweeted.

Earlier, the actor’s spokesperson had revealed that he was diagnosed with a severe case of jaundice.

Irrfan Khan is well-renowned for his acting prowess. While his roles in the Indian films of Maqbool, Paan Singh Tomar, and Piku among others won him national accolades, Hollywood films of Slumdog Millionaire and Life of Pi got him international recognition. The actor was even awarded the National Award in 2013 for his performance in Paan Singh Tomar.
