India’s Glocal Leader: A young biographer’s riveting account of Chandrababu Naidu’s life

Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu has grown to become one of the most prominent and popular leaders in the Telugu states. A roller-coaster ride that has witnessed innumerous ups and downs, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu’s journey surely is one that needs to documented and presented to the world.

Tejaswini Pagadala, a young writer from Hyderabad, has tried to achieve the same and come forward with her first book, ‘India’s Glocal Leader’. Deemed to be the first definitive biography of Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the book, which has already created an intrigue among various quarters, has recently been made available in the market. Having worked with the Andhra Pradesh government in the past, Tejaswini has had the opportunity to present things through the perspectives gained from close quarters of the CM. Here’s what Tejaswini had to share regarding the book and her journey in the process.

The motto behind the book

“The primary motto behind penning ‘India’s Glocal Leader’ was to track the journey of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu through the formation and the division of Andhra Pradesh. I also feel that he is one of the most undervalued politicians in our country. Apart from Southern India, not many people in the Northern parts of the country are aware of his achievements. This was another reason that prompted me to give a detailed account of his life thus far.”

What does the book cover?

“A visionary person who is work-oriented and committed to achieving the goals, leaders like Mr. Chandrababu Naidu are rare to find in a democracy of ours. I have thus strived to write this biography which covers multiple facets of the Chief Minister’s life- from his childhood days in Naravaripalli to his agenda of building the state’s capital.” Tejaswini adds, “Apart from showcasing his accomplishments and praiseworthy attributes, I have even given my critique over some of his much-debated and controversial decisions that led to several shortcomings of the government.”

Homework behind the book

“My journey on this book started back in January 2016. I first visited Naravaripalli, where Mr. Chandrababu Naidu spent most of his childhood. I interacted with many of his relatives and close acquaintances to get insights on the incidents that led to the emergence of one of Andhra Pradesh’s greatest leaders.”

“Apart from my first-hand experiences while working as the communications officer for the government, other sources too helped me gain significant insights. Political Personalities, some of the individuals who previously worked with the Chief Minister, and a few senior journalists who have watched Mr. Chandrababu Naidu’s journey over the years, have been my crucial sources in garnering information while compiling this book.”

Things to look ahead in ‘India’s Glocal Leader’

“A riveting account of the incredible journey of one of India’s most effective leaders, ‘India’s Glocal Leader’ tells us how and why does Mr. Chandrababu Naidu do what he does. The book tells us about the difference made to the state and the nation when a Chief Minister leads the vision.”

Tejaswini has even released the trailer for this book. You can watch it here.

The book is available on Amazon.
