Watch: Indian Cricket Team gets a rousing reception in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam has been a happy hunting ground for the Indian Cricket Team. From providing the perfect launchpad to the legend of MS Dhoni to being the stage for some special knocks from the bat of Virat Kohli, the city of destiny has been truly special for the men in blue. Thanks to many such cherished memories, the fans in Visakhapatnam have forged a beautiful love affair with their favourite cricketers and give them a warm welcome each time they visit the city.

Sunday too, was no different as the fans flocked Hotel Novotel to catch a glimpse of their cricketing heroes. The cricket fever gripped the area as the frenzied fans chanted the names of the Indian cricketers whilst they boarded the team bus to the stadium.

Apparently moved by the fandom, the Indian Cricket Team shared a video capturing the rousing reception from their fans. Watch the video below:

On Sunday, India took on Australia in Visakhapatnam for the 1st T20I of the two-match series. After losing the loss, the hosts were put in to bat first by Aaron Finch. However, much to the disappointment of the crowd that turned up in large numbers, the big guns failed to deliver with the bat, leaving the task to KL Rahul to scrape the score through to 126-7 in 20 overs.

Coming out to chase the paltry target, Australia looked well on course before losing Glenn Maxwell to Yuzvendra Chahal. The visitors lost wickets in a cluster as India looked to pull off a heist at the final stage. However, Jhye Richardson and Pat Cummins managed to hold their nerve and took Umesh Yadav to the cleaners in the final over to go 1-0 up in the series. The two teams are slated to battle it out again in the second T20I in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
